Muscat Hills Resort, Oman

No matter how much you want to explore, every holiday also includes a bit of relaxation and beach time. At the end of my trip around UAE, I took a few days of beach vacation in Oman. I was happy to be invited by the Muscat Hills Resort and be hosted for 3 days.
The Hotel is about 35 minutes' drive from the international airport. Upon arrival, I was thrilled by the ambience of the hotel, which is designed in a Mediterranean style. The entrance area is very nicely furnished, looks friendly and bright and we were immediately greeted in a very friendly manner by the staff.
During my stay at the Muscat Hills Resort I slept in cozy Barasti beach huts, take a morning shower in my own open-air bath and treat myself to a break on my own terrace. The huts are furnished in a country house style. So perfect conditions for a successful beach holiday in Oman. The concept is to immerse yourself in the environment around you, so there is no telephone or television in the rooms. However, wifi is available in all areas of the hotel.

Accommodation
At the Muscat Hills Resort you will stay in one of the 35 beautiful and excellently equipped Beach Huts in Arabic Barasti style, five of which can be booked as Beachfront Beach Huts. The furnishings of the Beach Huts consist almost entirely of natural materials; different types of wood create a warm atmosphere. Each room has a beautiful terrace. The tastefully designed open-air bathrooms are a highlight.

Facilities
The resort offers a very beautiful private beach with turquoise blue water in front of a picturesque mountain backdrop. Comfortable sun loungers and parasols are available to guests. There are even wide double sun beds for couples. The resort can also provide beach towels and sunscreen upon request. You can choose a delicious snack from the beach menu cards, and the bar provides you with refreshing drinks at any time while you enjoy the sun.

With the VIP seating areas on the beach, the resort offers wonderfully private seating areas with tables and lounge furniture right on the picturesque sandy beach. In the evening you can end the day in the shisha lounge on the beach. Every Friday evening "Beats by the Beach" - on the last Friday of each month with an international DJ.
The resort has a modern and well-equipped PADI 5 Star Dive Center, Blue Flow Diving. The surrounding waters, which are fed by the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea, offer a rich marine life, very beautiful corals and a large biodiversity. You can watch turtles, dolphins, whales, sharks and large schools of fish.
The Blue Flow Diving dive center offers training from Discover Scuba Diving to Dive Master. Numerous specialties are also offered. Technical diving and courses are also possible on request. The base is also the only one in Oman that offers PADI Public Savety Diver training. Children under the age of 14 cannot dive at Muscat Hills Resort. Other activities such as kayaking, snorkeling and dolphin watching trips are on the program.

The food
The Muscat Hills Resort offers a comprehensive breakfast buffet with something for every guest. From muesli to fruit, vegetables, cheese, sweet pastries and eggs, you will find everything here to start the day perfectly.
The restaurant with adjoining bar offers an elegantly furnished interior as well as a spacious terrace with numerous seating areas with a view of Al Jissah Bay. The restaurant is open every day from 12:00. You can choose your food and drinks a la carte. The chefs at Muscat Hills come from Spain, Ibiza and Oman and bring their experience and culinary finesse from various countries to the table. The selection of fine dishes is large - among other things, many Mediterranean dishes, Arabic delicacies, a large selection of fish and seafood as well as international dishes are served. The menu includes salads, pasta, grilled fish and meat, as well as an excellent paella.
The prices vary between 6 RO, e.g. for various starters and salads, and 24 RO for fresh fish, grilled lobster and tenderloin steaks. Most dishes, including pasta, paella and chicken dishes, cost between RO 8 and RO 12.

In addition to the offerings in the restaurant, burgers, wraps, club sandwiches etc. are served on the beach between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. The well-equipped bar (with alcohol license) knows how to convince with its excellent cocktails.
I really enjoyed my time at the Muscat Hills Resort. The decor was super chic and I especially enjoyed the peace and quiet. The turquoise glittering water with the impressive mountains in the background was the perfect start for my trip in Oman.
