Huus Hotel, Gstaad Switzerland
Updated: Sep 11
Imagine a super cool and fashionable hotel in the Swiss Alps. Huus Gstaad is situated in one of the world's most glamorous ski resorts: Gstaad. Since opening its doors in December 2016, Huus Gstaad has fast become a favorite for locals and guests alike. Nestled on a rolling hillside between the villages of Saanen and Gstaad, the seven-story, 136-room traditional wooden-clad chalet transcends simple Swiss hospitality and strikes a delicate balance between a restful retreat and a community hub for likeminded explorers and adrenaline junkies.
Had the chance to be hosted by them for 1 night and I would like to share my thoughts and lovely experience.

I really liked the property the second I arrived. The check-in process was quick, the front desk agent explained we were entitled to free breakfast (which we weren’t even aware of, but all guests at the hotel get free breakfast), and he also invited us to enjoy a welcome drink in the lobby bar at our leisure.

In the rooms, I was immediately fascinated by the design with a slightly alpine flair. Here, too, the colors are rather dark, but the accessories and lamps in bright colors create a nice contrast.
The beds in the HUUS come from the renowned Swedish manufacturer Hästens. She makes all mattresses by hand and only uses the best natural materials. The top mattress is made of horsehair, for example! You should lie particularly quietly on it, so you wake up less at night and enjoy a good, healthy sleep ...
After examining all the details, I discover my balcony with a fantastic view of the Rüeblihorn . It is well known that the weather in the mountains changes quickly and often.

Depending on your mood, you can eat yourself either in the HUUS restaurant (where breakfast is also served) or in the à la carte restaurant La Vue.
Thanks to my table near the open show kitchen, I always catch a glimpse of the hustle and bustle in the kitchen. The dishes are skilfully and eagerly prepared by the cooking brigade around head chef Giuseppe Colella . « Yes chef! »- it sounds constantly from the kitchen.
The four-star superior hotel also has a 2,000 m2 spa and wellness area . The pool is huge and very popular with young children. The spa, on the other hand, is a lot smaller in comparison. But for a sauna after the hike it is definitely enough.

The HUUS offers an extensive selection of all-inclusive leisure activities . In summer, for example, activities such as rafting, mountain bike tours, Nordic walking courses and guided hiking tours are included in your stay! The hosts want to share their enthusiasm for this beautiful area around Gstaad with their guests and inspire them to explore the region in a variety of ways.

Thanks to Huus Gstaad for hosting me in exchange for this review. To see more of my favorite places around the world, check out our Hotels page and book some vacay for your crew today!
