This year I had the chance to celebrate my birthday at Studio Bellerive with some friends in Zurich. Studio Bellerive is located on the ground floor of the Hotel Ameron Bellerive au Lac.
Studio Bellerive restaurant is easy to overlook from the outside. Hardly anything indicates from the street side which beauty is hidden behind the gray facade.
The color of Studio Bellerive restaurant is pleasant pastel tones with lots of green. Banana trees give the spacious interior a garden-like character and a long, airy, metal-framed arcade creates the illusion of an orangery.
The grill plays a major role at Studio Bellerive. In addition, exciting and modernly prepared starters, many of them to share, and newly interpreted brasserie dishes are also among the culinary protagonists.
On the appetizer menu, for example, you will find pork belly à la chinoise, Nobu-style ceviche, oysters, of course tartare, but also a classic langoustine bisque. From the grill there is, among other things, a pulpo, Irish Angus entrecôte or marinated beef short ribs.
Among other things, the pork belly with the miso cream and the radish was a real hit. The Angus entrecôte was super tender and each bite was exceptional. The dessert selection at Studio Bellerive is not very extensive but the cheese cake and chocolate mouse was really good.
The cosmopolitan gastronomy concept follows a regional-seasonal product philosophy at Studio Bellerive. The team around Chef de Cuisine Marcus Langer and Restaurant Manager Matthias von Maltzan serves meat, fish and vegetable specialties from local suppliers, à la carte or "Family Style" to share, and accompanied by side dishes, sauces and desserts. The diverse wine list aims to bring passionate wine culture from all over the world into the glass. The "Bellerive Bar" is a suitable location for an after-work drink or an aperitif before dinner .
