Reeza Restaurant, Mykonos

Updated: Jun 25, 2022

With a name that means ‘roots’ in Greek, it’s should come as no surprise that Reeza is dedicated to re-imagining the island’s most authentic cuisine. The restaurant sits poolside at the five star Rocabella hotel, in Agios Stefanos. Reeza is usually ranked among the best restaurants in Mykonos, and after visiting its easy to see why. They manage to make the food as beautiful as it is tasty.

Rocabella was recently renovated with respect to the traditional architecture and topography, as well as the desire to meet contemporary needs and aesthetic requirements. Stone, wood and sporadic planting of vegetation that you can find in a desert, convey a primal sense of intimacy and hospitality.

All the dishes are served on plain, hand-crafted ceramic plates and bowls, each dish is a delight for both eyes and palate.

For the started, I began with a delicate salad with brie cheese with peach. Very easy and delicious way to start the evening. After I wanted to try the octopus which was marinated on soya sauce and perfectly cooked. Being mediterranean, I am quite exigent with the seafood quality and I have to say that the octopus was excellent and well cooked.

Good way to continue was to chose small burgers with wagyu beef. Very tender and well cooked. Had the chance to try the gnocchis too with a delicious touch of truffle sauce.

For desert, pastry chef Spiros Artelaris, has created four exceptional desserts that perfectly complement the menu’s Mediterranean flavours. The restaurant has a large variety of cocktails which are carefully crafted and thought.

The amazing food, the immaculate service, the scenic setting, the laidback ambience: they all merge into a sublime evening that you’d want to repeat, preferably for an early dinner to bear witness to that most magical of spectacles that is the sunset over the Aegean.
